Learning outcomes
A World Challenge program is so much more than an expedition and sets out to achieve two key goals:
- To prepare students for adulthood by opening their eyes to the real world and giving them the attitude and ability to embrace it.
- To develop confidence and valuable life skills.
Curriculum links and awards
A World Challenge expedition and pre-expedition program can work side-by-side with the aims of the curriculum and the framework of personal learning and thinking skills.
World Challenge enables all students to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. Those who develop the skills of leadership and teamwork become more employable as they possess qualities highly sought after by employers; attributes needed in today’s fast-paced work place.
The International Baccalaureate (IB)
An overseas expedition program can be used to fulfil the Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) and Extended Essay elements of the IB Diploma.
Round Square
The World Challenge program complements the Round Square IDEALS philosophy perfectly. World Challenge expeditions can assist association schools by providing students with an opportunity to enhance and develop key skills in 40 developing destinations, while doing so in a challenging, yet safe learning environment.
