Operations Centre

The World Challenge Operations Centre is equipped with:  

  • A dedicated bank of computers with a unique database used to log all incidents enabling up to the minute progress reports
  • A bank of telephones including a dedicated emergency line, administration lines and emergency fax
  • Plasma screen scrolling all active incident reports
  • A file for each travelling team containing detailed country specific information such as an itinerary, in-country contact numbers, casualty and evacuation details, World Health Organisation and International SOS recommended hospitals and medical centres. World Challenge also holds photographs of each team member (including adults), photocopies of passports and flight tickets, emergency contact details for next of kin and school emergency contact details
  • Detailed maps of each destination
  • A current and extensive library of books for each destination
  • Satellite communication contact details for every team
  • Live news feeds from the BBC
  • A bunk room for Operations Centre night duty staff
  • In-house Western Union money transfer terminal
