VIETNAM ITINERARY

Acclimatisation
Teams will spend a few days acclimatising in either Saigon or Hanoi before moving on to a trek in a National Park. The flora and fauna on these treks are stunning and the guides have an incredible wealth of knowledge.

Trekking
Teams have the option of a 5 day hill tribe trek where they can stay in village huts, mixing with locals and learning to cook Vietnamese food. Alternatively, there is the option of a jungle trek where camping skills can be put to good use and teams can learn about the jungle environment.

Project
Teams carry out project work in schools and orphanages set in both rural and town locations. This is an excellent opportunity for cultural exchange with the children who are eager to work with the teams on renovation tasks.

R&R
Vietnam offers abundant R&R options including exploring Ha Long Bay on a junk boat in the north, visiting the once proud palaces of the Nguyen emperors in Hue, enjoying the lazy beaches of Nha Trang, or heading out from Saigon to visit the floating markets of the Mekong Delta.

CAMBODIA & VIETNAM ITINERARY

Acclimatisation
Teams have the option of spending a few days acclimatising in Saigon or Phnom Penh before moving on to a trek in a National Park. The flora and fauna on these treks are stunning and the guides have an incredible wealth of knowledge.

Trekking
Teams will undertake a jungle trek where camping skills can be put to good use and they can learn about the survival skills required in jungle environments.

Project
Cambodia is one of the least developed nations in Asia, and World Challenge has many links with charities and NGO's in-country. Past teams have helped to improve facilities at an orphanage for children who had lost one or both parents to AIDS. There are many opportunities to work with a range of rural and urban projects.

R&R
Aside from visiting the mighty temples of Angkor, teams will have the chance to travel north along the Vietnamese coast to visit the once proud palaces of the Nguyen emperors in Hue, the lazy beaches of Danang or the famed tailors of Hoi An. Teams might also opt to head out from Saigon to explore the floating markets of the Mekong Delta.

VIETNAM & LAOS ITINERARY

Acclimatisation
Teams will have the choice of acclimatising in Laos or Vietnam. In Laos teams could head up the Nam Ou river to explore the remote jungle-clad hills of Muang Ngoi, learning jungle craft from local guides whilst camping wild, and passing through a traditional Lao village.

Trekking
Vietnam and Laos offer a fantastic range of trekking options, including setting out from the old colonial hillstation at Sapa to explore the diverse hilltribe villages in the Hoang Lien Mountains of north Vietnam. Teams travelling between Nov-Mar (outside the summer monsoon) could even attempt to summit Mount Fansipan, the highest peak in mainland South East Asia.

Project
Teams have the rewarding opportunity to experience a different culture through community development schemes, and working in villages and schools in Vietnam and Laos - one of the world's poorest countries.

R&R
Teams will have the chance to visit ancient temples, jungle-clad waterfalls and exotic night markets in Laos, and may also be able to reach the Emerald Waters of Ha Long Bay. Once there teams could book themselves a tour to explore the thousands of limestone islands!
