How to Book
Expedition at a glance...

Location: Peru, South America
Duration: 21 to 28 days.
Ideal for: A challenging and varied experience.
How tough 1-5 (5 being difficult): 4.
Typical accommodation: Hostels and tents.
Terrain: Forest, mountain, altitude, jungle and coast.
When can I travel there?: All year round.
Climate:Peru's climate varies considerably by region and altitude. The best time for trekking is Jun - Sep, when days are sunny but nights are cold. The Inca trail is often closed during the wettest months of Jan - Mar. The coast is quite hot and humid during those months, becoming cooler during the rest of the year. As one moves up into the mountains, night-time temperatures become colder. The eastern slope of the Andes, like the Amazon basin, experiences very heavy rainfall during the wet season, so best time to visit would be Apr - Oct.
Culture shock 1-3 (3 being very different from home): 3.

Peru expedition reviews

I truly believe that this expedition has changed my outlook on life, my family and my friends. It's hard to explain a trip such as this in words that describe it enough to do it justice, and definitely impossible to describe it to someone who has never experienced such an amazing challenge with such a close and supporting team made up up of people who were strangers to you at the start!

Abigail Charnock, Challenger, Balwyn High

World Challenge Expeditions gave me the opportunity to develop my leadership skills, and I certainly achieved that! It was something that I only ever imagined, and World Challenge was able to give me that opoortunity. I really enjoyed the culture in Peru and the challenging aspect of the expedition.

As a teacher who regularly leads camps where students shoulder responsibilty, this was on a greater scale. A truly life changing experience for the students and a privelidge to witness this change/growth. A great opportunity to visit developing countries and explore areas and different cultures - loved it.

Paul Dietzsch, School Leader, Balwyn High

This was one of the most educational, fun, challenging and cultural experiences I have ever had. I found it to be an extremely fun trip, but at the same time I learnt a lot about the country of Peru and its people, as well as about the group I was with and myself. In conclusion, i would give this trip 5 stars *****.
