Climate: Honduras is hot and humid almost year-round. Temperatures vary by altitude rather than season. The average high temperature nationwide is 32°C and the average low is 20°C. Temperatures are coolest in mountain areas. The Caribbean coast can experience a lot of rain, the heaviest being from September to February.

Honduras expedition overview
Honduras is located in Central America and is bordered by Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. It is the most mountainous country in Central America and encompasses the largest tract of remaining forest in the region. Contrasting with its highlands, Honduras also has a long Caribbean coastline, famous for its reefs and large areas of cloud and rainforest, with the remote and beautiful Mosquito Coast in the east.
Honduras is a destination that is ideal for teams who want to experience traditional cultures, who want to learn to dive and also discover an environment with trekking possibilities to suit all levels.

Things to know
- The North coast is known for its great seafood especially fish, shrimp, conch and lobster. Make sure you also try the 'plato típico' made up of eggs, beans, fried plantains, cheese, cream and meat, served with tortillas or bread.
- In 2006 there were over 90 million coffee bushes in cultivation in Honduras Approximately 81% of Honduras is made up of mountains.
