Namibia & Botswana expedition sample itinerary
A sample itinerary for the Namibia and Botswana expedition is given below, please note this may alter between now and your expedition. The Expedition Programme Manager for Namibia and Botswana will agree a suitable expedition itinerary for you, to best match the abilities and aspirations of your team.
Acclimatisation
Starting in Botswana teams can explore the Kalahari and learn valuable survival techniques from the desert bushmen. In Namibia, explore the vast rock formations and cave art at Spitzkoppe, or head in to track rhinos on the lush Waterberg Plateau.
Trekking
Trekking in Namibia and Botswana will test those bush skills you learnt during acclimatisation! From Botswana's Lobatse heartland, Tswapong Hills and Limpopo River, to Namibia's Waterberg Plateau - the opportunities to get off the beaten track are abundant.
Project
The project can easily be the focus of the expedition. Past teams have made a huge difference to small schools, providing them with playgrounds, sport pitches or vegetable gardens, or reparing and painting run down buildings as well as helping with teaching. Last year a team helped a community in the Kalahari Desert obtain their first water tap, saving them miles of walking each day.
R&R
In Namibia the coastal town of Swakopmund is an ideal destination for Rest and Relaxation. Teams can choose to sand board down the dunes of the Namib desert, or take a dolphin cruise in the Atlantic. In both Namibia and Botswana, there are opportunities for safaris in Etosha and Chobe National Parks. .
