Responsible travel
World Challenge endeavours to follow responsible travel guidelines to ensure that all of our expeditions have a minimum or positive impact on the environment. This includes business operations and expeditions in both the US and overseas.
Responsible Travel – managing our carbon footprint
Minimizing the environmental impact of our business operations is of the utmost importance to all World Challenge stakeholders. Following responsible travel advice from the Carbon Trust we minimize our business ‘greenhouse gas’ emissions by having regionally based staff to ensure that carbon and other harmful emissions from transport are kept to an absolute minimum while customer service is continuously improved.Want to know more about how we can all manage our carbon footprint better?

Responsible Travel – off-setting emissions
Climate Care is a service that helps individuals and organizations to repair the damage they do to the climate. We work with Climate Care to offset carbon emissions from employee and Challenger flights.
As an organization we believe it is our responsibility to ensure that each and every expedition that takes place is planned and executed in a manner which ensures the best possible impact on local people and the local and global environment.
As a central part of the World Challenge ethos this is a key focus from the initial planning stages right through to the completion of any expedition.
Responsible Travel – Sustainable projects
We ensure that our projects are sustainable and that work Challengers do on expedition around the world every year has a positive impact on communities and on individual organizations, for example encouraging teams to eat and buy local food rather than imported.Read more about our sustainable projects
Responsible Travel – Porter Protection
