Who we are

Our story

We were born in a rural village in the distant snow-capped mountains of Pakistan. Back in 1985 a young army captain took a team of soldiers overseas on a training mission in the remote Hindu Kush range. It wasn’t long before he realised that the personal development and camaraderie learned there would shape them all for years to come. He brought the blueprint back and World Challenge was born, founding the schools expedition industry.

Whether it’s about finding perspective, overcoming obstacles or gaining confidence, World Challenge builds the life skills young people need to live a life of courage, kindness and adventure. Today we are 30 years young, proudly travelling to over 40 destinations with over 8,000 students every year.

We’re not shy in saying we lead the way in safety, quality, ethical community engagement and learning outcomes. We believe in the value of what we do, it’s why we’re still here, it’s why we plan on sticking around a whole lot longer.

Our people

We are a business driven by our people and want to build something we can be proud of. We’ve come a long way and together we’re going places. Our people are an extension of our values, so you’ll find nothing less than a truly committed, passionate, smart and entrepreneurial team here.

Work for us

It takes a pretty special place with some pretty awesome people to do what we do. Everyone counts – from packing kit, booking flights, talking to parents and inspiring students. Benefits include free coffee and the potential to travel. Socials include rooftop views of the Grand Prix and probably too much fancy dress.
